Björn Ekegren is a Swedish artist who creates unique and limited glass art. Björn Ekegren began his artistic career as a painter. Between 1970 and 1993 he worked as an artist and his paintings were inspired by a naturalistic, almost impressionist style, where light and atmosphere were often the focus to illustrate the changing of seasons. Following his training in glass production, Björn continued his journey as a sculptor. These days Björn Ekegren mainly creates glass art, however he also makes sculptures from bronze. Björn uses a special technique where the liquid glass is poured directly into handmade sand cast molds. The result is a lifelike expression that often bears the shape of a face or a statue.
